What to Expect at an Unleashed Brands Launch Day

Like many franchisors, Unleashed Brands puts a lot of thought and effort into one of the final stages of franchise ownership - the in-person opportunity to meet the brand’s representatives up close and personal. In all, there are officially eight steps to the company’s brand-specific franchise investigative process. And, as each stage is completed, the stakes get higher for both franchisor and franchisee alike. In this blog edition, we’re taking an in-depth look at a key step in the process – what to expect at an Unleashed Brands Launch Day.

This, of course, refers to the industry term of “Discovery Day”, sometimes known as “Meet the Team” Day. It marks an important phase of our future franchisee’s journey to become business owners for our brands, which we’ve branded “Launch Day.” Future franchisees visit the Unleashed Brands Headquarters in Bedford, Texas for equal parts learning and fun as they get the information they need on running a category-leading youth enrichment brand.

The 8-Step Discovery Process

The Unleashed Brands discovery process is designed to educate our candidates on the value of children’s enrichment franchises. In doing so, we strive to present a mutually beneficial environment. One in which our franchise candidates gain an understanding of our brand’s value propositions and we get to learn about their personal goals and ownership ambitions. Split into eight important steps, it’s an ample opportunity to learn how we might work together as franchisor and franchisee. From the outset, we explore our candidate’s goals, timeline, and financial tolerance. We provide an in-depth review of the business model, seeking an open and honest conversation about moving forward in the process. The next step involves a formal application, though there’s no investment commitment just yet. If amenable, we advance the process by introducing a territory analysis and introductions to our funding sources. Step 5 involves a review of our brand’s proprietary franchise disclosure document (FDD), a comprehensive look at the business proposition. Candidates who qualify financially, and wish to proceed, then move on to the Unleashed Brands Launch Day event - an immersive experience to meet the brand representatives and confirm their franchise ownership decision. If we decide we’re a match for one another, candidates are given the opportunity to participate in validation sessions with existing owners in the franchise family. As Step 8 finally arrives, it’s decision time. If we have a deal, candidates will become franchisees and we move directly to the onboarding process.

Unleashed Brands Launch Day!

At Unleashed Brands, we adhere to a tight schedule for our pre-planned launch days – typically over the span of two business days. We begin on day one bright and early, with a welcome breakfast and expectations for the days ahead. This is followed by CEO Michael Browning Jr.’s Unleashed Brands Vision Casting presentation, where we review our company culture, employee values, and discuss the future we’re developing together. This is followed by various presentations on the Unleashed Brands shared services such as finance, real estate, marketing, analytics and more. The afternoon is spent on a planned site visit to one of the individual brand locations for an up close and personal look at the day-to-day activities of our franchise owners. Following this tour of our field operations, we host a social hour for future franchisees to network with other candidates as well as the Unleashed and brand teams.

On Day Two, future franchisees get to hear from the Brand President of the brand they are interested in addition to presentations on marketing, training, operations and support specific to that brand. Before we wrap-up the event, each candidate has 1:1 time with their recruiter and we talk about potential roadblocks they may hit and how to overcome them. During this two-day event, we make sure all questions are answered and candidates confident in their decision to become a youth enrichment franchise owner.
